Shows I’m seeing this weekend, because I think they’ll be good:
Nina Wise at The Marsh, Friday and Saturday at 8:00pm – she does really lovely improvised monologues and dance.
Ascendance at The Ashby Stage, Friday and Saturday at 8:00 pm, Sunday at 3:00 pm. I’ve never seen them, but my friend SAM reports that the last time she saw them she wept at the combination of athleticism and artistry. They dance on walls, I hear.
(Oh. Wait. I just looked for a video to show you, and I realized that LOLO DANCES WITH THEM. How could I not know this?! Lolo is one of my favorite dancers in the whole world – she just makes time slow down in this impossible and dreamy way.)
Event I probably won’t be able to go to, even though it will probably be lots of fun:
Bachelors of Science CD Release Party (and dance-a-rama) at Club 6.
And in two weeks, I’m going to see:
Lily Taylor at CounterPULSE, on Saturday March 27th at 8:00 pm. She’s a composer and singer, and she’s teaming up with some interesting dancers. I’m a fan.
Maybe Ascendance’s tech/designer could do something for you. Their rig looks pretty modular.
You know, I was thinking that too! I’ll have to write and ask them who does their stuff.
